Hello, I’m Scott W. Houghton, a technologist, consultant, and entrepreneur passionate about ethically harnessing technology to enhance everyday life—starting with the culinary world and aiming to make a global impact.
My journey began amidst the lively atmosphere of my parents’ and their friends’ food trailers, where I gained firsthand experience in the food service industry. Simultaneously, my fascination with technology was ignited by tinkering with my dad’s old DOS computer and experimenting with early internet devices like WebTV and our first Windows 98 PC. In high school, I channeled this passion into starting a small IT consulting firm, providing services to local businesses—including restaurants—which gave me early insights into how technology could benefit small enterprises.
After high school, I served in the Navy as a Diesel Engineer, an experience that honed my problem-solving skills and instilled discipline and teamwork. Following my military service, I returned to the tech industry with a renewed focus. Over the past two decades, I’ve been consulting for numerous corporations and government agencies, specializing in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, DevOps, and DevSecOps. This ongoing work allows me to stay at the forefront of technological advancements and understand the evolving challenges across various sectors.
Currently, while continuing my consulting work, I’m also dedicated to my passion project, Nebus AI & Robotics (also known as NebusAI). Our mission at NebusAI is to revolutionize the restaurant industry—and eventually the world—through advanced automation software, AI, and robotics. We aim to enhance operations while preserving the human touch essential to dining experiences. By balancing consulting and entrepreneurship, I’m able to apply my expertise broadly while innovating within the culinary world and beyond.
